Wednesday Prayer Meetin'

What a friend we have in Jesus,

All our sins and griefs to bear!

What a privilege to carry

Everything to God in prayer!

O what peace we often forfeit,

O what needless pain we bear,

All because we do not carry

Everything to God in prayer.

Have we trials and temptations?

Is there trouble anywhere?

We should never be discouraged;

Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Can we find a friend so faithful

Who will all our sorrows share?

Jesus knows our every weakness;

Take it to the Lord in prayer.

This morning my mom is in her doctor's office discussing options on how to get rid of a painful problem she's having with her spine. The first procedure, that she had last week, didn't work. So she is probably looking at surgery some time in the near future. Would you pray for her peace of mind and confidence in moving forward? Also for the doctors who will be treating her.

Brittany, a teenager from our church, has been hospitalized with Stevens Johnson syndrome. If you're like me and you've never heard of this, well, you could certainly click on the link and find out. BUT, I would strongly encourage you to do this WITHOUT small children in the room and only if you aren't currently eating or drinking. Because it's not pretty. It's a life-threatening skin condition that causes cell death. I cannot even imagine how painful it must be. The pictures are horrifying. Please pray that Brittany will recover from this with no lasting damage or effects.

Chelsea's mom has had some heart issues recently. She was hospitalized for arrhythmia an fluid around her heart, but improved and was sent home again. She's the sweetest lady! So pleasant to be around. Would you remember the Gour family and her mom in your prayers?

Also, the Gours have some close friends who are going through tough times right now. They need prayer for their daughters...a younger girl and an older one...both facing medical issues that may be serious. Please pray for their strength and continued trust in the Lord to see them through.

Pray for our dear friends and fellow bloggers who are buried under a bazillion feet of SNOW right now. Pray for them to stay warm and safe. And to be able to shovel out soon! Pray for Tonggu Mom's sanity! And my friend Sara who has no heat! It's forty degrees in her HOUSE.

And finally, would you pray for another person that I dearly love? Without knowing details? Someone close to me seems to be heading down a path that is going to be destructive. The video above is meant especially for that person. Pray that this precious person will open their eyes and stop before it's too late. Lives are going to be affected if not. Pray for that person's conscience to bother them...A LOT! Do you know who's watching you? Are you sure you want to destroy their confidence in you?

Thanks for your prayers! What's going on with you this week? How do you need prayer?

And I will pray for the others. I didn't know about Chelsea's mom, so thank you for sharing that.
