Career Day

This past Wednesday was Career Day at the elementary school. The kids were allowed to dress as whatever they want to be when they grow up. (Except of course no fake weapons and that sort of thing.) My kids usually enjoy this day, and they've gone dressed as everything from doggie doctors to preachers to the statue of liberty. (One guess who THAT was.) So this year the Pip Squeak wanted to go dressed in his Jiu Jitsu outfit, also known as his Gi. The problem is that fifth grade boys can be rotten and he was a little worried that people would ridicule him or laugh. I ask you, what's to laugh at? Look how cute he is...

Anyway, we talked about how proud he is of his Gi and the stripes he's earned on his belt. We discussed not worrying about what others think. He finally came to the decision to wear it. After all... his twin brother went to school wearing their dad's uniform...tucked in up to his armpits. And then there's his sister...well...I think the school expects a little weirdness out of our family.
