My sister thinks I won't post this. I thought she knew me better than that!
Saturday I had the privilege of showing houses in the freezing, icy cold weather (which I absolutely love, ugh) to a couple looking for a deal. Believe me, one can discover all sorts of interesting and nauseating decorating ideas when looking at homes that need fixing up. Yesterday our bargain hunting lead us to a 4 bedroom home with lots of potential...and a purple bathroom. Well, more of a retro-lavender, really. The bathroom fixtures...tub, wall tile, sink and toilet...were all original to the built-in-1964 home. I've shown lots of houses and I'm telling you I have NEVER seen original 60's purple fixtures before.
Now hold on a minute. Before you gag, .let me tell you something. It was adorable! The faucets are brushed nickel and white ceramic. The floor tile is mainly white with pieces of lavender mixed in. The walls are in desperate need of a paint job, but otherwise, the purple was very charming in a cottagey kind of way.
We need to redo our master bath anyway. So, I want one! A purple toilet, that is! It would look so much nicer than the current HARVEST GOLD. You see, my house-hunters are good friends, and I thought I could talk her into chunking the purple toilet if they buy the house, and giving it to me...as commission! (Not.) But, noooooo. Jennifer LIKES the purple toilet, too. She wants to keep it. (Totally unfair. I think she should definitely let me have it for showing houses in 20 degree cold.)
So, here's what I'm thinking. If any of you come across a purple toilet, let me know. Maybe I can talk The Hubby into buying me one for my birthday.
** No, I have not been taking Darling Daughter's pain medicine. Thank you very much.
